About Us
Cheaha Regional Head Start (CRHS) was established in 1983 to provide Head Start services in Talladgea, Clay, Randolph and Coosa Counties.  CRHS is a division of the TCR Child Care Corporation that was established in 1972.  CRHS and other programs under the corporation has served over thirty five thousand children and families.  In 1998 CRHS became the grantee for Calhoun and Cleburne counties and has continued to expand over the years bringing the total funded enrollment to 898.  CRHS/EHS began serving infants/toddlers and pregnant women in 2001 in Anniston Alabama, and in 2009 we expansioned to provide EHS services in TAlladega and Coosa Counties.

CRHS/EHS program proudly shares its name with the beautiful Cheaha Mountain, the tallest point in Alabama at more than 2400 feet above sea level.  The Cheaha Mountains are related to the entire funded area, and included the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.

CRHS/EHS employs over one hunderd seventy five (175) full time employees.  More than 1/2 of these employees began as parents, grandparents or volunteers.  CRHS/EHS has numerous written collaborative agreements with local businesses to ensure long properous relationships to improve the delivery and accessibility of services to all families in the community.  The community in which Head Start centers operate have demonstrated their appreciation and support through generous donations, enabling CRHS/EHS to consistently meet or exceed the twenty percent of non-federal share (In-Kind) match.  This support is evidenced through many letters of support and long term partnership agreements.
