The 898 children and families consist of:
  • 770 children ages 3 to 5 years old
  • 96 infants and toddlers ages birth to 3 (in 3 counties)
  • 32 pregnant women in 3 (in 3 counties)
CRHS/EHS employs over 175 full time employees.  More than half of these employees began as parents, grandparents or volunteers.
Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs that serve low-income children ages 0-5 and their families with the overall goal of improving school reediness and preparing young children for future success. Early Head Start was established with the 1994 reauthorization of the Head Start Act. The program extends vital services to low-income pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers.

A range of individualized services in the areas of early childhood development, health, nutrition, parent involvement, and family development are provided. These services are responsive and appropriate to the family’s ethnic, cultural, and linguistic heritage as well as life experience. To improve the delivery and accessibility of services to all families in the community, CRHS/EHS has numerous written collaborative agreements with local businesses to ensure long prosperous relationships
